Infuse: Hallowed Ground

An Overground Halloween bash.

w/ Gabriel & Dresden @ Paradise Lounge

So San Francisco’s favorite holiday has got to be Halloween. What better night to let your inner freak out in full color while surrounded by others doing the same thing? People show up and we at Opel absolutely support that kind of behavior. Squared, actually.

Because there’s so much fun to go around, and because we couldn’t decided exactly what kind of party we wanted to do, we are doing two! Both feature something special for you on the special night.

Infuse : Hallowed Ground will feature cutting edge progressive music by the newly exploding production and DJ duo known as Gabriel & Dresden. Winner of this years Breakthrough DJ of the year at Dancestar 2004, they have been producing and remixing tracks that you have already known and loved. They get calls from Dido, Sarah McLachlan, Annie Lennox, Jewel, and others to remake their music into their own unique sound of driving, funky, bass heavy but melodic dance floor gems, and they are redefining where music is going, in many ways defying being easily categorized. The point is, you’ll like it. They have been touring the biggest festivals in Europe all summer but want to spend Halloween with us cause they know how we do it. They are also celebrating the release of their new CD, Bloom. Supporting cast includes underground favorites Dragn’fly (Love Tribe), Hoj (Opel / djhoj.com), and Tafner (Sol System).

Upstairs will feature the best house music SF has to offer with legendary Garth (Greyhound Recordings / Wicked), plus Ellen Ferrato (2nd Sunday) and Sunder (Sol System).

More on Gabriel and Dresden’s new double length CD, Bloom:

Josh Gabriel and Dave Dresden – better known as Gabriel &
Dresden – boast one of the most impressive resumes in contemporary
dance music, with over half a dozen #1 Billboard Dance chart hits to
their credit, including remixes for Annie Lennox (“Pavement Cracks”),
Jewel (“Intuition”), Sarah McLachlan (“Fallen”), and “Me Against The
Music” by Britney Spears featuring Madonna.

It would have been simple to take the easy route. After all, Josh
Gabriel and Dave Dresden – better known as Gabriel & Dresden –
boast one of the most impressive resumes in contemporary dance music,
with over half a dozen #1 Billboard Dance chart hits to their credit,
including remixes for Annie Lennox (“Pavement Cracks”), Jewel
(“Intuition”), Sarah McLachlan (“Fallen”), and “Me Against The Music”
by Britney Spears featuring Madonna. In addition, in 2003 they racked
up an international pop hit with “When The Rush Comes” by Motorcycle
(their collaborative project with vocalist Jes Brieden), and continued
sending ecstatic surges through packed dance floors with underground
faves like “Lament.”

For their debut album, the team could have simply assembled a
Greatest Hits set. Certainly, many of their high-profile colleagues
have gotten away with exactly that. But, as anyone who has scrutinized
their music closely recognizes, the reason Gabriel & Dresden have
attained this pinnacle of success – in a genre that is too often
defined by clich
