ZODIAC CARTEL BIO

Our ethos is simple. - ‘Jackin’ House Music With A Techno Soul’.

It was late 2006 when the mysterious Zodiac Cartel burst onto the scene, with the shredding ‘Devil’s Music’ on Lot49, and the massive selling remix of Elite Force’s ‘Used & Abused’ on U&A Recordings. Both tracks sold in large quantities and immediately installed the Cartel as one of the ‘go-to’ producers in his field, with supporters such as James Zabiela, Crookers, Kissy Sellout & Sasha amongst the many A-listers supporting his prodigious career to date.

Whilst some have him pegged as a ‘fidget’ producer, there’s a lot more depth on offer in his productions, and a broad & diverse range of remixes this year has served to showcase his virtuoso production skills. Remixes have ranged from the deep & druggy (remixes such as Butter Party – Wriggle (Dark & Deep Mix), Harvey Mackay – Reflex) to the peaktime & anthemic (Fukk Off – Rave is King / Rennie Pilgrem – Drumma) to the wonky (Elite Force – Jack The Joint / Sawtooth Suckas – Ordinary Girl). After a year of outstanding remix production work, he dropped the ravishing single, ‘Klappyn / Robots’ on U&A to great commercial and journalistic acclaim.

The Cartel began 2009 with a serious spell of studio time, during which he secured two further single releases, with the aggro-latino-street-sounds of future anthem, ‘We Don’t Play That’ (U&A Recordings) and the peaktime raveathon, ‘Beyond The Dancefloor’ (Lee Mortimer’s Wearhouse Music). Both enjoyed long runs in the upper echelons of the Beatport charts, alongside a series of peerless remixes for the likes of Calvertron, Death Kit, The Subs, DJ Dan, Jesse Brooks and Rene Van Munster.

As if that wasn’t enough, ZC has also found time to launch the ‘Weapons of Choice’ series, a series of FREE downloads of remixes undertaken by the maestro, beginning with his amazing re-construction of the Franz Ferdinand single ‘No You Girls’, which was featured and lauded on no fewer than 40 blogs. The second release in the series was a complete deconstruction of Santigold’s ‘L.E.S. Artistes’, and with a further 4 ‘Weapons of Choice’ set to appear over the coming months, world domination is just around the corner!

WILL BAILEY BIO
Brummie boy Will Bailey has been churning them out for a few years now, but it’s in the last 2 years he’s really started coming into his own. His inventive productions mix up grimy electro house with touches of minimal techno, and a wide array of big, naughty noises. A producer/studio engineer and DJ with immense talent, and a presence behind the decks that is a sight to be seen, he has been on a world wide mission to rock dancefloors since 1998.

As one half of Twocker, one half of new duo on the scene Bass Weazal and the man behind the techno outfit Rudi Stakker Will really knows how to make some noise. Bass Weazal was instantly recognised by Fidget king Lee Mortimer and the debut EP was signed to Mortimer’s own label Wearhouse. Rudi Stakker has also gained a long list of fans such as Laurent Garnier, Hernan Cantteneo, Pete Tong, James Talk, Audiojack, Dave Seaman, Mark Knight, Fergie, Wally Lopez, Thomas Schumacher, Kanio, Ricky Stone and James Zabiela.

With an incredibly impressive discography of 60+ recordings already and a DJ diary that takes him from his studio near Birmingham to clubs all over the world, including Privilege (Ibiza), Ministry of Sound (London), Godskitchen (Birmingham), Womb (Tokyo), Club Bon Bon, (Shanghai), Soma (San Francisco) and Empire (Australia), it would seem that Will is well on the way to achieving his highly ambitious goals.

This year alone, Will Bailey has managed no less than 20 Radio One plays, 25 Galaxy Radio plays, an interview with Judge Jules and a top 10 remix for electro man of the moment Wolfgang Gartner, a feat that has lead to him to becoming one of the hottest remixers/producers in the UK, and firmly established him amongst the UKs leading acts... Everyone from Pete Tong to Eric Morillo, Fat Boy Slim, Van Helden and Roger Sanchez have been feeling his music. This year Will’s own label Simma Records will see releases such as the huge Krusher with new remixes from Escobar and Vito. The rest of 2009 looks set to boil over and explode for Simma records which will be throwing parties in various locations throughout the year.

Will’s success in the studio see’s him touring the world during the rest of 2009, demonstrating the overwhelming talent behind the decks that he has crafted over the last 10 years, the next six months jam packed diary sees Will take in some of the world's most famous underground venues, including.... Womb in Tokyo, Sankey’s in Manchester, Space in Leeds, Ofrey in Ukraine, and a return to Australia and Canada.

Will is indeed on fire right now, watch out for even bigger sparks for the rest of 2009 as Will Bailey continues his international house music take over…

● ‘One of the best talents i have heard in a long time - set for big things and i'm excited about working with him this year’

(RICKY STONE on Rudi Stakker)

● ‘Will Bailey, Rudi Stakker or Half of Bassweazal - whatever you want to call him - this guy is HOT! His tracks are always sat at the front of our CD wallet, and his filthy bootlegs have been a staple diet of my Galaxy radio shows for ages now. Proper get-out-of-jail tracks!’ (ANDI DURRANT)
