Opel 5 Year Front

Opel presents V: A Celebration of 5 years of parties with purpose.

We came into this not just to throw great parties. We started with the purpose of throwing benefits for such diverse groups as Seneca Center, the September 11th Children's Fund, Greenpeace, Bay Area Girls Center, EnVironmental Defense, and a number of Burning Man art communities and projects. We were inspired to use the gathering to point towards evolution within the support of community.

FiVe years later we find ourselves still pushing to build community, social change, inner inspiration, provide a platform for different artistic vehicles, cutting edge dance music, and high octane fun.

For our anniVersary party, we'll be bringing together all the elements that have flaVored our eVents over the years. An all out line up of local and international talent, fashion show of local designers pushing the future edge, a variety of performance and dance from members of the community, and lots of other goodies you won't want to miss!

We want to say such a heartfelt thanks to eVeryone who have supported us oVer the years. Not to be too cheesey, but - we LoVe you!

Prepare for V

The party: Infuse was born from a desire to fuse the values of the intentional parties of the underground, with the talent and production assets of the overground. It was also designed to be a party infused with consciousness, in which the gathering is a vehicle to build community, plant seeds of hope and social change, and nudge us to look inward to grow and challenge our own pain and fear that prevents us from fully living. So it shall be.

To celebrate 5 years of this effort Opel pulls out all the stops.

Special Guest Headliners:
Meat Katie (meatkatie.com / Lot 49, UK). Mark Pember aka Meat katie has long been a fixture on the breakbeat scene as both a DJ and producer, in the last few years his unique brand of tech-funk that takes influence from tech and tribal house, techno and electro, but with his trademark breakbeat feel, has really kicked off, with both house breaks djs sighting him as one of the most consistent players out there. His genre defying sound is also reflected in his DJ sets, which have seen him supporting the likes of The Chemical Brothers, Basement Jaxx, Death in Vegas, Ken Ishii and the Dubpistols, to name but a few. He has toured the world many times over and with his record label that he runs with Dylan Rhymes, Lot 49, he is pushing some of the freshest genre blurring sounds in the tech funk umbrella in the world.

Dylan Rhymes (www.dylanrhymes.com / Lot 49, UK) Bio: Dance music has been the biggest part of Rhymes’ life from a young age. Inspired by early hip hop and electro a la Kraftwerk and Doug E. Fresh, Marvin purchased his first set of decks at 15 and caught the bug in a bad way. Rhythm Design Studios in Uxbridge became the birthplace of Outsiders, Drake and Beaver’s much-lauded project for Junior Boy’s Own Chicago influenced Jus Trax label. Friend, DJ and London mainstay Clive Henry then joined the team and the trio became Peace Division, a project that gained props from every corner of dance music without exception. Since then he has cemented his reputation as one of the leaders of the breakbeat and tech house scenes through his output through Kingsize Records, Meat Katie’s Whole9Yards and Lot49 labels and his own Blue Black imprint. Besides original work, Beaver has also remixed the likes of Deep Dish, Infusion, Dave Gahan, Overseer, Unkle and Puretone while he has collaborated with Meat Katie, Christian J, Force Mass Motion (as Silencer) and Anthony J Gorry (on his 2004 album, Dead Famous).

30hz Tough electro edged breakbeat from Bristol UK. In the all too often bland world of breaks 30Hz has a unique sound and style that sets him apart from the crowd. Taking influences from techy drum & bass, electro and the hip hop of his native America, 30Hz has built up his label Vertical Sound into one of the leading breakbeat imprints, releasing artists such as Circuit Breaker, Baobinga & Id, Smithmonger and of course his own productions. He has also released on some of the biggest labels in breakbeat and electro such as Supercharged, Satamile and Cyberfunk and his music has been featured in everything from Xbox games to prime time UK television to BBC radio 1 airplay. Recently his analogue-heavy sound has caught the ear of breakbeat supremo Meat Katie, and a series of singles for the mighty Lot49 label will be in stores later this year.
