*UNMATA* is a professional, multi-award-winning, bellydance fusion troupe based in Sacramento, CA. Formed in 2003 by Hot Pot Studio's artistic director, Amy Sigil, Unmata is Shelly DeCant, Luna Taylor, Casey Staub, Tina Boyer, Kristina Zajic, Kari VanderZwaag, and April Rose Wilson . The teamforce of unmata is known for extreme choreography layered with inventive movement, and for tapping into an unmistakable divine inebriation on and off stage. unmata has spent 2006 performing and teaching workshops cross-country at such events as The Spirit of the Tribes in Ft Lauderdale, Tribal Fest in Sebastopol, Northern Migration in Buffalo, Tribal Café in Los Angeles , and Tribal Quest Northwest in Portland.

ZAHARA is a Multi Award winning dancer from Brazil. Her recent titles include: The 2006 Queen of the Bay, 2006 Star Cabaret and 2006 people's choice Palace dance excellence in Dance. She started dancing at a very young age Jazz , Ballet ,Samba and many other Brazilians styles, but Belly Dance is her passion. Zahara loves to feel the music in her heart. AHAVA dances professionally in the San Francisco Bay Area. She has been studying Belly Dance for six years, and has recently won the title '2006 Queen of Raks Sharqui. www.ahavadance.com

DANIELLE has studied classical cabaret style bellydance for many years. She is a student of the legendary Habeeba, who graces the cover of many vintage bellydance albums. Known for her graceful and sophisticated style, Danielle was a lead teacher at Habeeba's studio for 4 years before moving to San Francisco this summer from Columbus, Ohio. As an instructor and principal dancer in Habeeba's troupe, she has performed on numerous stages and was a featured dancer at Mehfil restaurant in Columbus. Danielle continues to further her studies by attending seminars and classes around the country and is happy to be in the Bay Area among so many talented dancers.

LISA fell in love with oriental dance several years ago while living in North Carolina. She recently moved to the Bay Area and is delighted to be able to study and dance with the best of the best! Lisa is also one of Ultra Gypsy's newest company members. www.najila.net & www.ultragypsy.com

FREYJA began her study of dance in early childhood. Her dance background includes ballet, jazz, hip hop, ballroom, salsa, club dancing, flamenco and Indian dance. Most recently she has taken up Indonesian dance. Freyja fell in love with belly dance through her first teacher Ansuya, who inspired her to pursue this dance form whole heartedly. Over the years she has studied with many different teachers and being a life-long student, she continues to study seriously with Frederique and Suhaila Salimpur. She also continues to study with Ansuya whenever the opportunity arises. Freyja has performed all over California, including the Staples Center (home of the LA Lakers), The Ford Ampitheatre and various restaurants and nightclubs. KAMILLE is the creative director of RockaBelly, a San Francisco Bay Area fusion dance company started in 2004. Kamille received a BFA in fashion design from Parsons School of Design. To decompress from fashion school she studied Middle Eastern dance with Anahid Sofian, starting in 1993. She danced in the Anahid Sofian Dance Company from 1995- 2002 before moving west to San Francisco. Influential teachers include Elena Lentini, Eva Cernik, Suhaila Salimpour, Alitha, Jill Parker, and fire performance with Riz. She has performed at many different venues, from art openings to Town Hall in NYC. Most recently Kamille has been sharing her love for dance with pregnant women at Sage Femme Birth Center, and exploring with her 2 year old son Jackson.
