 | For the Love of the music, of the people, for peace and tolerance, and unity in diversity.
That's Love Parade. |
Thank God for Love!
In a time of war, what better thing to celebrate than love? With so much strife, suffering, and acrimony in our nation and in our world, a parade to celebrate love, music, diversity, tolerance, etc. sounds like just what the Dr. ordered. And Opel, who exist in part to bring a value on consciousness to parties, will be showing up strong once again.
We're proud to team up with our sonic brothers at Qool to bring One Love, Many Beats!

Started in 1989 on former West Berlin's main avenue Kurfürstendamm, legendary Berlin DJ Dr. Motte rallied together with other exciting techno/house groovers of the time and the LOVE PARADE was born. His idea to promote a "housemusic demonstration" evolved into a demonstration FOR something, namely: tolerance, respect and understanding between nations. Instead of speeches and pamphlets there was music.
For the second time in North America, the world's largest electronic music festival comes to the city best known for Love: our own San Francisco. What better city to host America's only Love Parade?
Other talent confirmed to be appearing at Love Parade is Paul Van Dyk, The Crystal Method, Carl Cox, Bad Boy Bill, Ferry Corsten, DJ Dan, Goldie, Blank and Jones, and much much more. See the Love Parade website for more info...
Some unsolicited Syd tips for making the most out of your Love Parade weekend!
1.) Don't blow your wad on Friday night! There will be lots of great parties Friday night, but Saturday is a LONG day, with all day dancing in the streets and the best of the after parties that night. You'll need your rest.
2.) If you're driving to Love Parade, park your car near the Civic Center South of Market. That's where you'll end up, and parking SOMA is always easier.
3.) Bring warm clothes! We expect the weather to be typically San Francisco, meaning it will be warm and breezy during the day, but once the sun goes down and the wind kicks up through the Civic Center it will be straight up cold! Keep your faux fur in a near by car or in a back pack.
4.) Everyone should be on a mutual 'Vibe Patrol' where we look out for each other, stop people from doing things might that hurt themselves, others or hurt the event. There will be people from all over the country and world here, let's look out for each other.
5.) Don't fucking litter! Let's not leave the city trashed. Clean up after yourself Leave No Trace style, and take the time to find a garbage can. If you see unconscious people littering, ask them to be mindful of their actions.
6.) There will be tons of media there, and the eyes of the world will be on so called 'rave culture'. Don't give them a story they can sensationalize, but the real deal of our communties wonderful attributes and gifts.
7.) Dance in the streets people, that's the idea in the first place. : )
More as I can think of it!
